World Minerals - Murat Energy Surcharge Notice
The recent evolution of freight, packaging and raw materials have impacted World Minerals business dramatically. In addition the price of global hydrocarbon energy in general and more particularly fuel oil and gas in Europe has increased to unprecedented levels. The rise in energy cost has had a significant impact on the production costs of our Celite plant in Murat in France. As a result, effective April 1st, 2011, we have no alternative but to implement an energy surcharge which will appear as a separate line item on customer invoices.
World Minerals Europe will adjust the surcharge monthly based on the following reference mechanism:
| Indice Fuel TBTS <1% in €/tonne | Energy Surcharge in €/tonne |
| 440 - 460 | 1.70 |
| 460 - 480 | 5.10 |
| 480 - 500 | 8.50 |
| 500 - 520 | 11.90 |
| 520 - 540 | 15.30 |
| 540 - 560 | 18.70 |
| 560 - 580 | 22.10 |
| 580 - 600 | 25.50 |
| 600 - 620 | 28.90 |
The reference for heavy fuel low sulfur price ("TBTS <1%") is monthly average price made available by the French government (Ministère de l'Écologie, de l'Energie, du Développement durable et de la Mer - Direction de l'Énergie et du Climat (DGEC)) on their website:
www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/Les-prix-de-vente-moyens-des.html
The Energy Surcharge will be calculated on the month preceding the month of implementation.
The Energy Surcharge for April 2011 will be 15.30€/ton.
Any change in the surcharge will become effective the 26th day of each month and published on this website and www.worldminerals.com
We at World Minerals appreciate our customers understanding during these times and look forward to their continued support.
