REACh
Imerys has examined the implications of the European Union Regulation on the Registration Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACh), and has determined that there will be no material adverse impact on Imerys as a result of this new regulation.
An exemption from registration covers "naturally occurring substances such as mineral." This exemption applies to almost all of Imerys’ products, and thus, significantly reduces the impact of these new regulations on our operations.
Imerys has identified a small number of products that are subject to registration. These products have been pre-registered and a registration dossier will be prepared, if necessary. The Group has also established REACh working groups that will incorporate the changes to the supply chain resulting from the REACh initiative into its business without a material adverse impact.
The products from European Performance Minerals that have been pre-registered are Imerys' calcined clays.
