Imerys supplies calcium carbonates, kaolins and calcined kaolins for a wide variety of applications in the adhesives, caulks and sealants industries.
Imerys produces a complete particle size spectrum of treated and untreated ground calcium carbonate products from as coarse as 3,000 microns to less than one micron in size. This range, unparalleled in the minerals industry, allows us to offer products to every sector of the adhesive, caulk and sealant industry.
Imerys kaolins are used in adhesive, caulk and sealant systems to control structure, consistency and body. Kaolin is a hydrated aluminum silicate crystalline mineral characterized by its fine particle shape and chemical inertness.
Calcined kaolin is an anhydrous aluminum silicate produced by controlled heating a fine natural kaolin to high temperatures. This calcination process gives an increase in whiteness and hardness and modifies the particle shape. Calcined kaolins are used in adhesive, caulk and sealant systems that require low moisture and a desired consistency.
